All camps and productions take place at our Masquerade Theatre Studios in Riverside, NJ.

 
 

Summer Drama Camp

The Play's the Thing Drama Camp - (June 23-July 3) - Ages 5-15

  • Two 1-week camps. 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday, June 23 - June 27, and June 30-July 3 (there is no camp July 4th).

  • Camp is extremely flexible, with options for both weeks, 1 week, or individual days, or half day (morning or afternoon).

  • This is a drama camp, no singing required, focusing on fundamentals of acting.  We will have a 10 minute showcase at the end of each week; 2:30pm on Friday, June 27th and Thursday, July 3rd.

  • [Week 1] $200

  • [Week 2] $160

  • [Both Weeks] $350

  • Individual days [$50] and Half days [$35] campers may participate in the end of week showcases if they will be around.  Even if they are only here for half day one day, they will have fun while they are here playing and learning with other students!

  • Campers will need to bring comfortable clothes and shoes that they can move in, a water bottle, lunch if they will be here all day, and a snack.

Summer Musical Camp

Musicals Camp featuring Annie, Kids - (July 7-August 2) - Ages 7-15

  • Camp runs 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday, July 7-August 1

  • Camp is extremely flexible, with options for all 4 weeks, individual weeks, or individual days, or half day (morning or afternoon).

  • We will have a 10 minute showcase at 2:30pm on Fridays at the ends of Weeks 1, 2 and 3 with full performances of Annie, Kids at the end of Week 4 on August 1st at 3:30 and 6 and Saturday, August 2nd at 3:30pm and 6pm.  (To participate in the full performance of Annie, Kids, students must participate for the entire week 4 at minimum.)

  • 1 week campers [$300] will learn parts of Annie, Kids and perform in the showcase at the end of their week.  If participating in Week 4, they will perform in one or two numbers in all performances of Annie,      Kids at the end of Week 4.

  • 2 & 3 week campers [$550 & $750] will perform in the end of week showcases as well as the full performances if their weeks includes Week 4.

  • 4 week campers [$900] will perform in all the end of week showcases as well as the full performances at the end of Week 4.

  • Individual day or half day campers will also participate in learning numbers from Annie, Kids and will get an opportunity to perform in the showcases at the ends of Week 1, 2 and 3 or in a number of Annie, Kids at the end of week 4 if they accumulate enough experience hours in camp to do so.  Even if they are only here for half day one day, they will have fun while they are here playing and learning with other students!

Megan Knowlton Balne

Artistic Director

Megan is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Masquerade Theatre. In addition, Megan has a passion for teaching and dedicates her time to the Lights Up Program and Teaching Artists Program as an instructor and administrator. Megan has her Bachelor's degree in Theatre from Ramapo College with a concentration in Directing. Megan has worked with multiple theaters in the New Jersey area in teaching and developing arts educational programs. In addition, Megan is a mom of three and understands the importance of encouraging creativity and artistic expression in children. Megan believes the arts are a central component to educating well-rounded, empathetic, and confident individuals and is thrilled to be able to provide theatre education through Masquerade to the next generation.
