As the thrill of summer winds down, what better way to get us all reacquainted with the joy of education than with our next Showcase? "Class of 20XX" is a not-so-educational showcase about life during schooling, showing off all the fun angsty-ness of teenagerdom and young adulthood (don't forget those college years!). Featuring pieces from all generations of education such as "Heathers", "Grease", "Be More Chill", and "Legally Blonde", this showcase is bound to earn an A+!
Performances September 7th at 2pm and 8pm.
The world of theatrical auditioning is brutal. It seems most of the time that the perfect candidate turns out just not quite right. With Goldilocks-esque judgment, the seemingly perfect candidate can be written off for being just a bit too tall, or a bit too short, a bit too big, a bit too thin, a little too old, and not quite old enough. Our next showcase celebrates those Not Quite Just RIght.
Performance August 10th at 2pm and 8pm.
A Classical Cabaret showcasing soaring arias, crisp vocals, and transfixing beauty on a trip through the Golden Age of Broadway and Opera scene.
Performance July 20th at 2pm and 8pm.
A queer coming-of-age solo fairytale
SUGARCOATED is an autobiographical late (late) coming-of-age story about me, Jen: a romantic daydreamer who absolutely should have known she was queer by the time she was 8 years old. Through stories both mortifying and hilarious, Jen takes the audience through it all!
Masquerade Small Programs returns for the 2024 season with our annual Valentine's Day Showcase, but this time we're switching up our object of affections! Every year, the Mayor of Banesboro presents one individual with the prestigious "Citizen of the Year" award. This year's winner, Duke Bright, reflects his last name: a volunteer, a dedicated father, a man of the community. But when secrets of the past creep up to haunt, a truth comes to bite back, and a wounded soul threatens the reputation of not only Duke, but those who support him, Banesboro's Mayor, Frank Scandlebourne, will stop at nothing to keep things quiet and maintain the status quo.
Presented at Masquerade Theatre Studios October 13.
In January of this year, one of our Light's Up students, Christian DeCola, was in a bad car accident while in Hawaii for school. After intense treatment at a local hospital, he was thankfully able to return home to New Jersey to continue treatment.
A portion of the proceeds from this performance will be donated to the DeCola family to assist with medical expenses.
